Men’s Fellowship seeks to empower and educate

All men are invited to be part of this spiritual and empowering event

To foster harmony between social and religious life, a Men’s Fellowship is being planned for October 1 at the FET College in Shepstone Avenue.

The idea, which was put into action by a group of local religious leaders, aims to empower and educate men about their role in the family, society and church.

Titled ‘Umbono Oqhubekayo Launching and Get Together’, the event will begin at 09:00 and finish at 15:00.

There will be two sessions; the first will be an introduction and discussion of specific topics, and the second will include worship and reading from the Bible.

This event is open to all males of all ages, who will be encouraged to foster friendships and discuss some of the core issues that affect society.

Topics to be discussed include ‘Men as leaders in the family and society’ and ‘Developing self-supporting pastors’.

“These topics were identified to help men strike a balance between work, church and family; help them develop multiple streams of income for their family; and leave a legacy; as well as prevent the victimisation of wives and children when pastors pass away,” said Umbono Oqhubekayo founder Phumlani Mdunge.

Guest speakers will include Bishop Dumakude from Newcastle, Bishop Hlengwa from Mpumalanga, and Evangelist Nathi Buthelezi from Durban.

Phako Khumalo from Wembezi and Brother Thabiso Bhengu will be the performing artists at the Men’s Fellowship event.

For more information, call Mr Mdunge on 074 431 0476 or PS Ntshingila on 082 429 1932.
