According to Jan-Henk van Vuuren of Magenta Medical Services, the patients were stabilised at the scene by paramedics and then taken to hospital.

The cause of the collision is still unclear, but according to a witness, one of the cars stopped to turn off from the main road and was rear-ended by the other car.

Paramedics then responded to a second collision after a motorcycle and a car collided on the N11 later that afternoon, resulting in three people being injured.

Two children in the car suffered moderate injuries, and the motorcyclist was fortunate to escape with minor injuries,” van Vuuren said.

Paramedics stabilised the injured at the scene before transporting them to hospital for further medical attention.

At this stage, the exact cause of both collisions is unknown and will be subject to further police investigation.
