Soccer league scores another big week

The weekend's football fixtures were filled with drama and controversy.

During the newest round of the Newcastle Social Soccer League (NSSL), the day was kicked off by Legends FC against the unbeaten Malawi FC. However, the match was a controversial one.

Zim Stars then took on an intimidating Uloom FC and the Stars defence simply could not keep up with the blazing pace of Alba Mohamed and Bilal Ahmed, who scored the opening goal. However, Stars scored from the restart while Uloom was still celebrating.

The main game of the day saw Fairleigh United against Spartans FC with a spirited and vocal crowd spurring both teams on. Spartans’ Garyn Hendriks kicked a long-range drive and made it very difficult for Vaughn Miller from Fairleigh to score the equaliser.

Fixtures for this Sunday are as follows:

13:00 – Spartans versus Uloom, 14:30 – Legends vs Zim Stars, 15:30 – Fairleigh vs Malawi. Spectators are invited to witness all the  action and exhilaration of the NSSL.
