Additional sentences for three inmates

The three were already in prison serving sentences for unrelated cases

The Nongoma Regional Court convicted and sentenced three armed robbers to 20 years’ imprisonment on August 11. The accused were charged in November 2016 after robbing a business on February 9 that year. They stole a pistol and ammunition from the security guard, as well as other items from the store.
The three were already in prison serving sentences for unrelated cases, for which they were sentenced in 2019. Linda Zulu (41) is currently serving two life sentences and an additional 46 years, while Msizeni Joseph Shezi (42) is serving two life sentences plus 41 years, and Mncheneni Gazu (38) two life sentences and an additional 33 years. Their charges include double murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, and possession of firearms. These crimes were committed in Glückstadt in April 2016.
