‘And the authorities retain an eerie silence’

Our thunderously incompetent authorities are grimly maintaining their eerie silence.

Sir
Talana Live is descending upon us again, and now the question arises if Dundee is going to be able to handle all of our visitors.

The question is actually still on the table since last year, but our thunderously incompetent authorities are grimly maintaining their eerie silence.

Why is the municipality not doing anything about policing by-law?

Why do you get seven different answers to the same question when asking seven different officials..?

This town is a pigsty, dumping gets done everywhere, with just about everybody turning a blind eye to it, and why do the municipality collect the refuse on McKenzie Street and in other aeas only after hours…?
To ensure a handsome overtime payout? Another major eyesore and public irritation is the endless parties in public spaces over weekends, with the concomitant flood of litter that goes hand in hand with these practices.

Residents from Handley, Tandy, Coronation and upper McKenzie Streets are being terrorised by never-ending public drinking and music parties in the park, and they are not even phoning the police anymore, as it remains a futile exercise.

Law enforcement over weekends is non-existent, with officials practically refusing to work, or trying to bluff members of the public by making up their own laws with regard to this.

Every once in a while you see RTI officials checking for drivers licences, but it still requires a major event to see our municipal traffic officers in action. Do we still have a traffic department…?
If we do, you may make it worth your while to try and police the intersection in front of the Dundee Provincial Hospital every once in a while, hopefully before someone gets killed there.
