Armed robbery in industrial area

He became suspicious when he didn’t see any security guards

Seven people were allegedly kidnapped last Wednesday morning during an armed robbery at a trucking company in the industrial area. It is alleged that the victims’ cellphones were burned and a Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen. According to information received, the complainant received a call from one of his drivers, who instructed him to ‘check up’ on the company’s offices. When he arrived at the offices, he became suspicious when he didn’t see any security guards. Upon entering the premises, he realised that the bakkie was missing, as well as the office personnel.
The vehicle was recovered in Durban, while the workers were found in the Glückstadt area. No suspects have been arrested as yet.
