A ‘top of the table’ soccer clash

Needing a win to close the gap at the top of the table, Legends FC faced Malawi FC.

Malawi FC faced Legends FC on the weekend, with Legends needing a win to close the gap at the top of the table.

Before the second half whistle, Legends was 2-0 ahead. Amid some controversy however, the game ended in a contentious 2-2 draw.

Earlier in the day, Uloom FC kicked off with a bang against Fairleigh and scored an early goal, with Ali Como sending the ball flying past the goalie. Fairleigh seemed to be stagnant in its own half and struggled to string a few passes together.

Although Fairleigh played a better-composed game, three more goals saw Uloom win 4-1.

In the second game of the day, Zim Stars took on Spartans. It was said to be a nail-biting game, with the Spartans in the lead in the first half after Zim Stars passed up on a few opportunities.

Striking back however, Spartans scored a flying goal to take a 3-2 win at the final whistle.

Fixtures for this weekend are as follows:

Uloom vs Spartans at 13:30, Legends vs Zim Stars at 14:30, and Malawi vs Fairleigh at 15:30.
