Willem Boshoff Memorial Marathon only a few weeks away
Club members Ingrid and Simona le Roux recently took part in a 21km and 10km run in France while on holiday
The Gooderson Natal Spa Willem Boshoff Memorial Marathon promises to be a day of good value and great fun.
Hosted by Vryheid Athletics Club (VAC) and the Gooderson Leisure group, the event will take place on July 3 in the idyllic surroundings of the picturesque Natal Spa Resort just outside Vryheid. Late entries will be accepted on July 2 at Natal Spa between 17:00 and 19:00, as well as on the morning of the race from 05:00, at an additional cost of R100 for the 42km and 21km.
The first race will begin at 06:15 (42km) and there will be medals for all finishers. This is also a Comrades qualifying race.

Breaking news… We have International runners in our club. Club members Ingrid and Simona le Roux recently took part in a 21km and 10km run in France while on holiday. The mother-daughter team took the opportunity while holidaying in France to look out for races in the areas they would be visiting. They had to choose between running in the club colours or South African green and opted for ‘Springbok green’ in the end, as this would immediately identify them as South African. Just goes to show that once the running bug has bitten you, it’s hard to let go. VAC runners will literally run anywhere in the world just to put their country on the map!
Congratulations to Ingrid and Simona on being Internationally qualified – at least in our eyes.
