Members of Osizweni Crime Prevention have arrested one person for being in possession of dangerous weapons. The suspect was apprehended in Osizweni earlier this month.
According to Lizzy Arumugam, from Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications, officials were patrolling near a local cafè when they noticed a group of men carrying a suspicious-looking bag.
After stopping the men and inspecting the contents of the bag, SAPS found a knife and other dangerous weapons inside. One suspect was arrested and charged with the possession of dangerous weapons.
The case remains under investigation.
