N3 towards Van Reenen now open
Motorists using this route should expect delays, as traffic is slow-moving after the protest
The N3 heading towards Van Reenen is now open.
This morning (June 16), protesters allegedly from the All Truck Drivers Forum (ATDF) blocked the highway with trucks, causing a backlog of traffic. It is believed that they were protesting about the rising price of fuel and the hiring of foreign national drivers.
Police were on scene to monitor the situation.

Both tolls, namely the Tugela East Plaza and Tugela Plaza, are now open for traffic.
