N3 and N11 closed due to protest

Truck drivers' strike blocks roads and causes a backlog of traffic...

The N3 and N11 are closed due to a protest which is believed to be linked to an ongoing truck drivers’ strike that is happening across the country.

N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) issued an update this morning (June 14), stating that the N3 Toll Route remains closed to traffic in the vicinity of the Roadside / Reitz Interchange (at N3-9 KM 20.4 between Warden and Villiers in the Free State).

Trucks are blocking the road in both north- and southbound directions. Heavy congestion is being reported in the area, with the current traffic backlog extending more than 5km in each direction.

It is also reported that the N11 (Mawela Wela) after the Dundee off-ramp has been closed as well.
