‘Meat’ and greet at morning market

Pastor, Andre Strydom said the plan was to revive the annual event in the wake of the lockdown.

‘Meat’ and greet at morning market –

The allure of handmade goods and the aroma of sizzling meat was the perfect backdrop for the Newcastle Community Church’s annual Morning Market recently.

Pastor, Andre Strydom said the event was supported throughout the day.

We are very thankful to everyone who supported us.”

The annual winter market, planned over a two-month period, featured a wide range of stalls selling everything from curry and rice, boerewors rolls and pancakes to leather- and beadwork items, health products, plants and homemade sauces.

The event also featured a first with a five kilometre fun run. Pastor Strydom said the only problem was the lack of participants in the fun run, due to numerous school sport and other community events on the same day.

However, he said the Morning Market was still a huge success.
