Petrol cap and key found by beggar

The owner can claim his property at the Ladysmith Gazette offices

Siphamandla Dlamini, who is often seen begging for money and food at the corner of Harrismith and Francis Road, noticed a petrol cap with a key dropping from a car on Sunday (May 29).

He says the old-model convertible car was coming from BP service station in Harrismith Road and he believes the driver had just filled up with fuel.

“I saw the cap dropping from the car and I tried to flag down the car. Unfortunately, the motorist couldn’t hear me, so I have kept the cap and key for the past week, hoping I would see the car again,” explained Dlamini.

He then decided to take the items to the Ladysmith Gazette in the hopes that the owner will recognise his property and claim it.

He added that he wants the residents of Ladysmith to know that unemployed people do help where they can, with what little they have.

The owner can come and claim his petrol cap and key from the Ladysmith Gazette offices.
