Numerous people were injured during two separate collisions, which both occurred on the road between Madadeni and Osizweni today (June 2).

According to Jan-Henk van Vuuren of Magenta Medical Services, five people were injured after two vehicles collided in the morning.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found that five occupants from the one vehicle had sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were all stabilised on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care,” he said.

Later on, added van Vuuren, several more people were injured when a bakkie and a minibus taxi collided in the same area. The causes of both collisions remain subject to official investigations.

Emergency services officials have noted a sharp increase in collisions over the last few days. Motorists are advised to take more caution when traveling,” concluded van Vuuren.
