Little Ethan makes history at Stillwaters Angling Club

The next competition will be the Vees Micro Enterprises (VME) league 3 to be held at Sandford on November 8.

Competition within the ranks of Breakwaters and Stillwaters Angling Club brought out the best in their members as they were involved in an intense battle for the title of Champion of Champions.
The second round of the competition was fished at Richgate Park on September 13. The standout anglers were Ossie Oosthuizen and Shane Mangaroo who bagged 12 points each while other anglers were not so lucky.
Three notable catches were recorded as Amith Datadin landed at barbel of 5,475kg, Vicky Bhooli caught a scaly of 840g while young Ethan Burger surprised all when he caught a rare Kurper of 625g, the first in the history of the club since its establishment in 1991.
The top five anglers of the day, Ossie Oosthuizen (12 points); Shane Mangaroo (12 points); Nicky Le Roux (8 points), Kaveer Singh (8 points) and Terrence Chetty (7 points). It was also the start of the internal singles and doubles knock out competition as some of the favourites fell by the wayside, beaten by their less fancied opponents.
The top anglers leading the log include Ossie Oosthuizen (17 points); followed by Kaveer Singh (15 points); Shakeel Sheik and Shane Mangaroo on 12 points each.
With many competitions to follow, the early title contenders include Prenesh Pandoy (heaviest scaled fish – 2,760 kg); Amith Datadin (heaviest non scaled fish – 5,475kg ); Vicky Bhooli (heaviest scaly of 840 grams); Ossie and Shane (highest points scorer – 12 points); Shane Ossie Oosthuizen (crowned Champion of Champion); Kaveer Singh, Kidd Rampersadh and Shakeel Sheik (League Champion 7 points each); Ethan Burger (4 points) and Avi Buduram (Junior Angler of Year on 2 points); Kidd Rampersadh (Senior Angler of the Year on 8 points followed by Whity Maharaj 2 points) while Ossie leads the pack with the most fish caught with 10 fish.
The next competition will be the Vees Micro Enterprises (VME) league 3 to be held at Sandford on November 8 at Sandford where the teams will be going out all guns blazing in their bid to seek glory as both Breakwaters and Challengers try to consolidate their position as League Champions.
