It was a time for prayer and reflection on the evening of March 12 when Iskcon Estcourt devotees gathered for a special event.

With assistance from the Iskcon Ladysmith team, a mobile parade was planned.

Devotees started to gather at the temple premises from 17:00 in anticipation of the spiritually uplifting event.

Shortly after 19:00, the team from Ladysmith arrived, much to the delight of the devotees.

A spinning wheel mounted on the back of a trailer, which features photos of the deities, was the centre of attention.

After an opening prayer, devotees commenced with the coconut-breaking ceremony and made flower offerings. It was then time to get on the road.

The mobile parade drove through the streets of Forderville, allowing people to come out of their homes and also make offerings.

Food for Life Estcourt prepared 500 meals which were handed out to residents and devotees alike. Iskcon Estcourt would like to thank everyone who supported and attended the event.
