Mpati runners, stunning times

The cool weather probably accounted for the excellent times.

The annual Mpati Mountain Race held on Saturday produced a stunning time from Malibongwe Dlamini, currently residing in Dundee, who completed the 15km up-the-mountain course in 59 minutes and 32 seconds.
Running for the Nedbank Club, Malibongwe was nearly four minutes ahead of second placed, Kwenza Ngubane of Maxed Elite.
Lindokuhle Ximba, also of Maxed Elite Club, was third in 65:07.
This was the 38th running of this race which starter, Ken Vorster of Biggarsberg Athletic Club, said he was proud to have first run in 1977.
While a big sponsor was not forthcoming this year, the host club did well to attract over 105 entries. This was also a fun run/walk on a less strenuous 5km course, for families and novices.
