The bakkie was finally stopped in the Umbulwane area. Cables were discovered in the vehicle, which had six occupants, including the driver.

The five passengers fled on foot and evaded capture, but the driver was arrested.

Ward 20 Cllr Abbas Warasally commended the work of the security guards. “This is a warning to all those who are engaged in criminal activities within my ward and the Alfred Duma municipal area that we will not rest until the might of the law takes it course. This is also a warning to those criminals breaking into homes that your time is running short; you will be caught. A special request is made to residents who experience criminal activities to make sure that they open criminal cases,” said Cllr Warasally.
