Shepstone Road potholes still a huge problem

The matter has been reported several times to the municipality over the years, but to no avail

The ‘Shepstone Road potholes’ saga dates back to November 2018, according to Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor Sharon Buys.

Four years later and the infamous Shepstone Road potholes are still a problem.

The matter has been reported to Alfred Duma Local Municipality several times over the years, but to no avail.

Shepstone Road is one of the busiest roads in town, used daily by parents dropping their children at Mkhamba Primary School and also used by motorists going to and from work.

The potholes make the road dangerous, as motorists have to swerve to the side of the road to avoid them.

There is no walkway in Shepstone Road for pedestrians, so therefore they are forced to walk in the road itself and could be hit by vehicles trying to avoid the potholes.
