ESTCOURT KZN: Generous support for fund-raising market

An amount of R3600 was put into the shelter bank account to pay off vet bills

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the weekend market provided the perfect opportunity to browse for the perfect gift.

A fund-raising Valentine’s Day Market, in aid of the Estcourt Animal Shelter, was held at the Estcourt Methodist Church on a rainy Saturday (February 5).

However, organiser Sherlene Gericke and the stallholders did not let the wet conditions dampen their spirits; the market was hailed as a resounding success.

Locals and visitors set up their stalls and a wide range of items were sold.

From food to face-painting to unique gifts, there was plenty to see and do at the market.

“Even though it rained, it was an awesome day with great support, so thank you to the Estcourt community. An amount of R3600 was put into the shelter bank account to pay off vet bills,” said Gericke.

But it doesn’t end there… You can still show your support for the Estcourt Animal Shelter by buying a R10 raffle ticket to stand a chance to win beautifully frosted biscuits from Penny Patterson.

An anonymous donor has also provided three handmade double bed blankets, which are available for sale at R500 each.
