Competition heats up in regional soccer league

Natal Witness FC is on top of the log

Fierce competition is heating up in the Wise Men Regional Soccer League.

The league is halfway through, with 15 games having been played at this stage.

Natal Witness FC is top of the log at the moment with 34 points.

Hot on the heels of the leading team are FC Drakensberg in second place on 32 points and Qhakaza FC holding third position (30), a further two points adrift. As you can see, it’s a close race indeed, with only four points separating the top three teams.

Come the end of the season, the champions are likely to be one of these three teams. Anything could happen as the ‘top dogs’ vie for victory in each encounter on the field.

On the other end of the league table, Vukuzenzele FC is at the bottom with just five points. They face the risk of automatic relegation if they don’t notch up some wins soon.
