DUNDEE KZN: Encouraged to read aloud in front of fellow learners

According to the school, "This is in line with our vision to produce learners with the necessary knowledge and skills they will need in the future."

Amakhemfundo Primary School in Sithembile is part of a global community that annually celebrates ‘Read Aloud Day’.
The learners were encouraged to read aloud in front of their peers and teachers in the school hall. “The aim of this day is to build confidence in learners, and to encourage and improve reading skills with understanding,” cited school principal Mr Magubane.
Learners from Grade R to Grade 7 participated through reading stories, reciting poetry, giving speeches and other activities.
All the participants received certificates, and the best performers received goodies as well.
According to the school, “This is in line with our vision to produce learners with the necessary knowledge and skills they will need in the future.”
