DUNDEE KZN: League 5 to determine the category winners

The next fixture of the APL, the Mohamed Midas League 5, will be held on February 6 at Richgate Park, which will determine the winners in each category of the APL.
The second registration period of the APL closes on February 7.

The current title contenders setting the pace are:
Elias Dabooda (Challengers AC) – heaviest scaled fish category with a carp of 4.256kg to win R500 as an incentive for landing a carp over the 4kg mark; Sikander Amod (Breakwaters AC) – heaviest non-scaled fish with a barbel of 7.365kg; Eric De Bruycker (Stillwaters AC) – rare specie with a kurper of 1.420kg to win R500 as an incentive prize;
Ethan Jansen (Dannhauser AC) – ‘Junior Angler of the Year’ with six points; Talia Boodhoo (Stillwaters AC) – ‘Lady Angler of the Year’ with three points; and Ronnie Rampersadh (Breakwaters AC) – ‘Senior Angler of the Year’ with 38 points.
Monty Slabbert of BAC (58 points) tops the APL log as the current holder of the orange cap, followed hot on his heels by Basheer Abdool of Dannhauser AC with 57 points and Wayne Oosthuizen of Breakwaters AC on 53 points.
The title of ‘APL Angler of the Year’ remains wide open.
The top three anglers of the season receive tackle vouchers worth R3000, R2000 and R1000 respectively, with the compliments of Mohamed Midas and the APL.
The Angler of the Year of the APL will win the ultimate prize of a family weekend at a prestigious venue on the Vaal.
The log leaders of the other clubs put themselves in contention to win a R250 tackle voucher, sponsored by Mohamed Midas:
Darren Botha (Challengers AC) – 31 points); Mark Ince (Stillwaters AC) – 29 points; and Ridwaan Raheman (Glencoe AC) – 21 points.
