The VME League round two, held at Richgate Park on August 30, saw Challengers Angling Club topple the mighty Breakwaters outfit to avenge their defeat in the opening league competition.
This victory sees both teams tied on ten points, followed by the ever-improving Stillwaters on four points.
At a tense weigh in session, it was Challengers who made a clean sweep with Tony Singh finishing as “angler of day” on seven points, winning the Orange Cap, outright trophy and R200.
His counterpart, Dan Govender, retained the Purple Cap topping the log on 15 points. Challengers won R500 for winning league two. With each forthcoming competition the clubs, and as well as individuals, will be aiming for glory and this makes for an interesting and exciting season ahead.

The next competition will be the second round of the Champion of Champions competition for both Breakwaters and Stillwaters on September 13 at Richgate Park.
Fixtures under the auspices of the Angling Professional League will take well-deserved breaks due to the fasting period. The next competition of the APL will be round three of the VME League on November 8 at Sandford.
