New officers join Ladysmith SAPS

Brigadier Bantham and Brigadier Mngadi are elated to have such a dynamic team in their midst

The SAPS management team at Ladysmith will receive a boost from the beginning of February. Four-newly promoted officers will be taking up their posts at the station and district office.

Ladysmith SAPS Detective Services Commander Colonel MA Sbabalala is no stranger to Ladysmith. He worked at the Ladysmith Visible Policing Unit for many years until he joined the Ladysmith Detective Service, where he grew in rank.

Colonel RS Mthembu will be taking up the post of Support Services head. She has been in the ‘support environment’ throughout her career and was stationed at Esikaleni SAPS (head of Support & Human Resources), Mtubatuba SAPS (head of Support Services), and Empangeni SAPS (head of Admin Services). The colonel also performed services at the Umfolozi former area commissioner’s office. The colonel will be the head of the Ladysmith Support Services team.

Colonel PL Dlamini was previously stationed at Creighton SAPS Visible Policing, Ixopo Visible Policing, Pietermaritzburg Flying Squad, and Chatsworth Training Centre. The colonel will be heading up the Ladysmith Visible Policing Unit.

Colonel ZSL Dreyer has worked within the Uthukela District for the major part of his career. He performed duties as a detective at Winterton SAPS and was the station commander at Weenen SAPS, as well as Wembezi SAPS. He takes up the post as District Visible Policing co-ordinator.
