Areas that receive water from the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works have been left stranded yet again.

Residents woke up this morning (January 13) to find no water coming out of their taps.

According to information given to Ward 20 councillor Abbas Warasally, the raw water department was vandalised during the night and the staff are not able to enter to assess the damage.

At this stage, it is not known when water supply will be restored to the affected areas.

Cllr Warasally says the issue should have been reported timeously to them, as ward councillors, by the public relations officers. However, they have to get information second-hand from other people to find out what’s wrong so they can then alert the community.
