ESTCOURT KZN: Missing child case ends in murder

For a week, a search for 10-year-old Ayabulela Abongwe Kubheka has been active.

The child went missing on December 17 from his home in Loskop.

His grandmother last saw him in bed at about 8pm before she went out to warm a meal.

The child was nowhere to be found when she returned and he was reported missing.

The search ended tragically on the morning of December 26.

“The decomposed body of the child was discovered in a shallow grave,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

A 36-year-old has since been arrested and charged with Ayabulela’s murder and will appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on December 28.
