Two guards in the vehicle were fortunate escape with their lives.

Firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen during a CIT (cash-in-transit) heist earlier today (December 7).

According to sources, the heist occurred on the R34 at the Wakkerstroom turn-off.

Two guards in the vehicle were fortunate escape with their lives and were not reported as injured.

The make and model of the heist vehicle have not been released yet. Officials say they are currently gathering information about the incident.
