ESTCOURT KZN: More brutal slaughter of livestock [WARNING: Graphic content]

Three cows were stabbed and another killed and all the meat stripped off the carcass

“Just when you think it’s over they strike again,” these were the sentiments of Fyvie Farm owner Andrew Simpson after more livestock were injured and one killed last night (November 23).

It is believed that five suspects armed with spears overpowered the security guard and gained entry to the farm, which is located near Wembezi.

Three cows were stabbed and another killed and all the meat stripped off the carcass.

“There is no doubt in my mind that it’s the same crew, unfortunately until we actually catch them I don’t think it’s going to stop,” added Simpson.

Earlier this year four cattle were killed and their carcasses stripped and four more suffered injuries.

To counteract these attacks on livestock, Simpson has had to employ additional security. “At the end of the day, this is another hit to our bottom line over and above the financial losses we’ve incurred already,” he said.

If you have any information that could help trace the suspects, please contact your local police station.
