NEWCASTLE KZN: Case of reckless driving opened after Friday night’s collision

Two people, aged 35 and 24, were arrested on October 23 and charged with reckless and negligent driving.

Following a collision on Allen Street on Friday night (October 22), which left one person critically injured, two people have been arrested.

Newcastle SAPS has confirmed that detectives are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving. 

Lizzy Arumugam, from the SAPS Corporate Communications office, said preliminary investigations are complete and numerous witness statements have been taken, in order to piece together the events of that night.

The driver of one of the vehicles sustained minor injuries, while a bystander was seriously injured and taken to [hospital]…” stated Arumugam.
