Readathon and sports achievements at DJS
DJS battled first scoring 108/1 with Langa top scored 44 not out. Glencoe were bowled out for 23 with Juandré van der Merwe having best bowling figures 3 wickets for four runs.
DJS se Tennis presteer
Dundee Junior tennisspelers het die week besonders presteer toe hul albei hul wedstryde gewen het teen Huttenpark- en Egerton laerskool.
Dundee Junior se eerste tennisspan het 17 Augustus teen Egerton met 13 wedstryde teen 7 gewen. Op 19 Augustus 2015 het 6 dogters en 6 seuns teen Huttenpark gespeel en die knoop deurgehaak met 15 wedstryde teenoor 9.
Dundee Junior se eerste ses dogter spelers is Dee-Mari Kriel, Nicole Johnson, Susan Gregory, Anuchca Slabbert, Anika Louw en Majandra Pretorius en die seuns is as volg: Reynier van Rensburg, SW Meintjes, Zander Abrams, Wikus Coetzee, Hanno Kleynhans en Colin Joubert.
DJS Soccer
DJS First team Soccer took part of a well organised tournament in Glencoe at Glencoe Primary School from Friday August 14 to Saturday August 15, where many Schools took part. DJS played well against very good opposition and we came third in our pool. Well done boys!
On August 19, DJS u/11 and 1st team went to Vryheid to play at NRS School to take part in a soccer tournament. DJS is proud to say that their 1st team played very well, winning 2, 1 draw and 1 lost.
The following boys scored the goals: Shaylen Pillay, Huzaifah Mahomed and Sihawukele Buthelezi, with Bayanda Madlala being player of the tournament.
U/11 played two games winning 1 and drew the other. U/11 makes DJSproud as they have not yet lost a match.
DJS Cricket
DJS First Cricket Team played against Glencoe on Tuesday August 18. DJS battled first scoring 108/1 with Langa top scored 44 not out. Glencoe were bowled out for 23 with Juandré van der Merwe having best bowling figures 3 wickets for four runs.
