GLENCOE KZN: Bail proceedings postponed

The matter has been postponed to October 14 for the continuation of the bail application

Garth Simpson, the farmer accused of murder, will have to wait a week before the court makes a decision on whether to grant him bail or not.

Mr Simpson has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Qiniso Dlamini. He was also charged with six counts of possession of unlawful firearms.

The matter has been postponed to October 14 for the continuation of the bail application. At 4pm today, when court proceedings had ended for the day, the Investigating Officer was still being questioned by the State Prosecutor.

Once again there was a heavy police presence outside court as some members of the community called for justice to be served.

Police from various stations in the area were on hand to monitor the situation.

Mr Simpson was remanded into custody in Ladysmith until his next appearance.
