Ladysmith KZN: Minister of Health visits town ahead of vaccination weekend

The 'Vooma Vaccination Weekend' campaign seeks to encourage more people to get the jab

Today (October 1), National Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla is visiting the Uthukela District to monitor the state of readiness for ‘Vooma Vaccination Weekend’. The minister will head to the Ezakheni Community Hall in Ward 1, Section C, where he is expected to have a walkabout and a ‘meet and greet’ before witnessing community members being vaccinated on site.

‘Vooma Vaccination Weekend’ is aimed at intensifying the efforts of the vaccination programme. The target of this campaign is to get 500,000 people vaccinated in one weekend.

People are encouraged to visit the vaccination site from October 1 to 3. No pre-registration is required and people will be allowed to get the jab even if they haven’t registered.
