NEWCASTLE KZN: Family loses everything in Amajuba Park house fire
Emergency personnel are conducting preliminary investigations to determine the exact cause of the fire.
A woman and a young child escaped from a burning house this afternoon (September 15).
The fire broke out at their Buffel Avenue home in Amajuba Park – the flames have destroyed the home’s contents. According to witnesses, it is unclear how or where the fire originated.
According to Mornè Potgieter, Operational Director at Ithemba Security and a representative of Newcastle 911, said emergency responders received a call informing them that two people were trapped in the house.
“The community came together and assisted emergency personnel in getting the people out safely,” he confirmed.
“All emergency services are on the scene right now, performing preliminary investigations to figure out what caused the fire.”
