NEWCASTLE KZN: Police team arrests two suspects on drug-related charges
At the property, one suspect was arrested for being in the possession of Mandrax tablets.
Local crime fighters have seized around R2 500 worth of drugs recently.
During an intelligence driven operation in Osizweni last week, supported by members of Osizweni Crime Prevention and the Newcastle K9 Unit, police officials were led to a property in Section A. Details of the operation were provided by Lizzy Arumugam from the Corporate Communications office.
At the property, one suspect was arrested for being in the possession of four full Mandrax tablets, seven half tablets, and two quarter tablets.
The police officials next moved to another house in Section A, where another suspect was arrested for being in the possession of 24 parcels of heroin and whoonga.
“Two suspects (48 and 50 years old) were arrested for narcotics possession as a result of the operation. All of the aforementioned accused will appear at Madadeni Magistrates Court in the near future,” she concluded.
