GLENCOE KZN: Sarel Cilliers educators all set to go, go, go

Sarel Cilliers staff - including teaching staff, grounds-men and hostel workers - were vaccinated at the beginning of the holidays and we encourage you to vaccinate your children as soon as possible.

With early-morning temperatures in Glencoe and Dundee reaching below zero, it was a chilly return to school for Term 3 this week. In what has been a bitterly cold winter, students and staff bundled up and returned to learning.

After closing earlier than anticipated, there were tests and work to be caught up, and the teachers and students of Sarel Cilliers High School were busy from lesson 1 on the first day back. It is going to be a busy term, with the matrics having extra lessons on Saturdays.

If you are a parent or guardian of a matric learner, please make sure they are on time for these extra classes, which serve as very important preparation for the upcoming exams. Sarel Cilliers is accepting registrations for the year 2022, and forms are available from the school office. Interviews with prospective Grade 8 learners are taking place and the final interview date is August 2. Please make sure you have all the required documentation ready when you apply, as this will ensure that your registration is processed with minimum delay.

All health and safety protocols are being followed to ensure the safety of staff and students. Please do not send your child to school if they are displaying any of the Covid symptoms such as high temperature, body aches, nausea, diarrhoea, cough, loss of smell or taste, and shortness of breath. Most of the Sarel Cilliers staff – including teaching staff, grounds-men and hostel workers – were vaccinated at the beginning of the holidays and we encourage you to vaccinate your children as soon as possible.
