ESTCOURT KZN: Clean-up to commemorate Mandela Day
Stocked up on refuse bags, brooms and enthusiasm, teams were seen cleaning up in the central business district (CBD), parts of Forderville and along the R103/R74 today
July 18 is hailed Mandela Day in honour of former South African president and global icon, Nelson Mandela’s birthday.
To celebrate the legacy left behind by the former activist and humanitarian, a call is made to spend 67 minutes to perform acts of kindness and goodwill.
Heeding this call were local members of the African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA).
Stocked up on refuse bags, brooms and enthusiasm, teams were seen cleaning up in the central business district (CBD), parts of Forderville and along the R103/R74 today (July 18).
Debris left from the protest action last week was cleared from the gutters and roads, while litter left behind after a morning of commuting in the CBD was swept and bagged.
