"It was great to see people of all races uniting to protect our town"

Dozens of locals heeded the call to protect the town from further looting.

Yesterday (July 13) a call was made for locals to meet at the police station to discuss and be part of the night patrols.

“It was great to see people of all races uniting to protect our town,” said Mncedisi Makuyi who was part of the patrol teams that were stationed at strategic points around Estcourt.

The patrol teams were on the roads from 7pm to 7am.

This morning, reports are coming in that no looting or violence is taking place in the central business district.
