NEWCASTLE KZN: Franzic’s journey from Ingagane to national television
Franzic is currently working on an EP and hopes to capitalise on his recent successes.
Lungelo ‘Franzic’ Nhlumayo says he is overwhelmed at winning a music competition which aired on SABC1 recently.
Franzic has been announced as the winner of 1’s and 2’s, a contest which aims to unearth the next ‘master of spin’, and by its own definition ‘supports and encourages the growth and journey of up and coming DJs and producers’ .
DJ Tira, DJ Zinhle and DJ Speedsta were this season’s judges.
In his eighth year on the decks, Franzic has worked with acclaimed South African artists and record producers and will be releasing an extended play (EP) soon, titled ‘Collecting Pieces’.
His message to aspiring young musicians and DJs: “Find that unique thing that will make you stand out. Don’t stop believing in your craft and don’t stop believing in you…”
