Sarel Cilliers High School closed unexpectedly last week for decontamination to take place. With the onset of winter and cold temperatures, there were many absent learners and with positive Covid-19 cases the school had no option but to put the safety of staff and learners first.

The current announcement that schools will close early for the winter break will affect the exams that need to be written but allocations will be made for these examinations to be written early next term. In these uncertain times it is vital that you put your health and safety first. Parents are urged not to send learners to school if they are displaying any of the Covid-19 symptoms.

On a positive note, Sarel congratulates Avuyile Cindi in Grade 11 on being chosen as a newly selected member of the Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal Youth Choir. This will require a lot of dedication and hard work to join up with the choir for practice but the school is very proud of your success. Keep safe and be sure to check on the Sarel Cilliers Telegram site for updates and notices.
