ESTCOURT KZN: Tuning into your mind, body and soul with yoga

“In this modern era, we are overly stimulated and over worked"

Estcourt-born yoga instructor Kaite Andrade chooses this quote to describe the ancient practice that promotes health and wellbeing –

“Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul creates the symphony of life.” – BKS Iyengar.

The 25-year-old has recently brought this popular discipline to the community of Estcourt, hoping to impart her knowledge and expertise to bring about overall wellness to those that are open to the idea.

Kaite who was raised in Estcourt achieved her 200 hour Certified Yoga Certificate last November and continues to expand her education by studying Hospitality Management through distance learning.

Seeing a niche in the Estcourt community, with no other yoga classes being taught, Kaite is keen to start teaching and spreading the benefits to locals.

The classes would concentrate on Hatha Vinyasa Iyengar Yoga, which focuses on physical postures with a flow (vinyasa) and emphasis on alignment (use of props) and pranayama (breath).

“In this modern era, we are overly stimulated and over worked and anxious with poor posture due to the lifestyle that we live in, I wanted to help others reduce their stress, become more mindful and live a happy and joyous life. Yoga is for anyone and everyone, anyone could join my class,” concludes Kaite.
