DUNDEE KZN: Dundee dancers Step Out during SACOPA auditions

Dundee’s own Skylar Davies, Kate-Lynn Labuscaghne and Hayley Wentzel were part of the team and took part in their very first big competition

On June 12, seven Stepping Out Dance Academy dancers auditioned at the Seabrook Theater in Durban to become a part of the SACOPA ( South African Championships of Performing Arts) KZN team.

Dundee’s own Skylar Davies, Kate-Lynn Labuscaghne and Hayley Wentzel were part of the team and took part in their very first big competition.

Should they qualify, they will become part of the KZN Team and also receive their KZN Dance Colors. They will also travel to Rustenburg to compete.

From there, students get chosen from each Province to represent SA in LA.

“We are extremely proud of how they handled everything. This was a great opportunity for them after not competing for over two years due to the pandemic,” said Stepping Out’s Marina de Beer.

“Stepping Out would like to thank each and every parent for their dedication and support. Without you, this would not be possible. While we wait for our results, we continue to train hard in our Dundee and Vryheid classes for our upcoming ADPA dance exams which will be on July 1 and 2,” she added.
