DUNDEE KZN: Protest action erupts between Dundee and Helpmekaar

Motorists are advised to avoid the road between Dundee and Helpmekaar as protest action has again erupted in the area.

The road has been been blocked by burning tyres and debris. At this stage it is unclear what the reason for the protests are, however it’s believed to stem from the community’s demand that speed bumps be replaced on the stretch of road. 

The speed bumps were removed when the road was recently resurfaced.   The area has seen similar protests in recent months.

SAPS are currently on scene.
