NEWCASTLE KZN: 53 school uniforms handed over to school children in Utrecht
Mayor Mhlungu said she maintains the view that social responsibility should encompass the entire community.
In collaboration with the Department of Social Development, Emadlangeni Municipality Mayor, L.Y Mhlungu handed over school uniforms to learners at Myayiza and Emadlangeni Primary Schools.
According to Communications Officer, Ayanda Mabaso, these schools were identified during a visit to the area by Deputy Minister of Social Development, Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu.
“The Minister made a call that learners at the two schools should be assisted with uniforms. Therefore, 53 school uniforms were presented to the identified learners, who were very excited.”
Mayor Mhlungu said she maintains the view that social responsibility should encompass the entire community, ‘as we are each other’s keeper’.
