NEWCASTLE KZN: Graham Gibson – Police still on the hunt for suspects

SAPS Dannhauser has jurisdiction over the case.

Suspects and motive remain elusive, for the death of Graham Gibson on March 30.

Multiple sources have confirmed there are no new leads concerning Graham’s death, with SAPS in KwaZulu-Natal appealing to anyone with information on the case to come forward and help bring about closure.

Captain Nqobile Gwala, from the SAPS KZN Media Centre (Corporate Communication), said: “The matter is still under investigation. We are appealing to anyone who might have information regarding the suspects involved to contact their local police or Crime Stop on 086 001 0111. The motive for the killing is unknown.”

Official sources state that while information on Graham’s killing has not yet come to light, they are hopeful more details will be revealed in time and once the proverbial dust has settled.

This has not made coping with his death any easier for his wife, Jeannie. She explained that her son was in frequent contact with police officials, who also confirmed to the family that there were no leads at this stage.

“I’m trying to cope, but it’s not easy…” said Jeannie.

Graham, who was 63 at the time of his death, was found inside his Ford Ranger bakkie which was discovered alongside the N11 near the Durnacol turn-off. He was said to have been stabbed multiple times.

Robbery was all but ruled out as a motive for the killing, with sources confirming that Graham’s wallet, tablet, and mobile phone were left inside the vehicle. SAPS Dannhauser has jurisdiction over the case.
