NEWCASTLE KZN: Emadlangeni Municipality sets the record straight
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews and appointments will be made on the basis of qualifying criteria.
Posts within the Emadlangeni Municipality are not frozen.
Recently, the municipality advertised available posts on its social media platforms and in a local newspaper.
“We would like to set the record straight regarding the status of advertised posts. The posts are not frozen and any report which suggests otherwise amounts to malicious rumours that should not be taken seriously,” asserted Communications Officer, Ayanda Mabaso.
He encouraged interested individuals to apply for these posts, as per the instructions on the advertisements.
“It has also come to the attention of the municipality that there are certain people going around and promising jobs in exchange for money or other forms of transactions. Such action is illegal and does not represent the Recruitment Policy of the municipality,” continued Mabaso.
He emphasised that all recruitment processes are followed when selecting and recruiting candidates and said no jobs were offered in exchange for money.
“All shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews and appointments will be made on the basis of qualifying criteria.”
Mabaso urged those who have information regarding the ‘illicit sale of jobs’ or those who have paid an amount of money due to the promise of a job, to report it to the SAPS or municipal Human Resources Office.
“The identity of the complainant will be protected,” he promised.
