ESTCOURT KZN: Special needs school benefits from fund-raising market

The donation would be put to good use towards maintenance at the school

When local community fund-raising volunteer Sherlene Gericke met the staff and children at Project Life Special Needs Education and Care Facility, she was touched by their dedication and tenacity.

She knew that she had to assist in some way, and did what she does best by planning a fund-raising market that was held on April 24 in the Estcourt Methodist Church yard.

Local and visiting stallholders created an idyllic atmosphere for a bumper market, with entertainment, food, prizes and shopping galore.

Thanks to the support from the stallholders and community, Ms Gericke was able to donate R1000 to Project Life last Thursday.

Founder and educator Desiree Moonsamy wholeheartedly thanked Ms Gericke on behalf of the school fraternity, and said that the donation would be put to good use towards maintenance at the school, including an exciting painting project.
