NEWCASTLE KZN: Stolen goat recovered, one suspect nabbed

The suspect (37) was arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen stock.

During an intelligence driven operation in the Osizweni policing area on Friday, April 30, law enforcement officers focused on drugs and other cases during the early hours of the morning.

According to Lizzy Arumugam of the Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications office, the operation consisted of members from Osizweni Crime Prevention and Public Order Policing from Newcastle.

“Members were patrolling Section A along the public road when they spotted a white Nissan GO Sedan and stopped the vehicle. During the search, it was discovered there was a black and white goat between the seats,” revealed Arumugam.

One suspect was subsequently arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen stock and officers recovered the goat.

Police searched this vehicle during their patrol and recovered the goat. Photo submitted by Lizzy Arumugam of Newcastle SAPS.
