ESTCOURT KZN: Police appreciated for their role in the communities

Each station commander was also present to acknowledge the efforts of the officers

43 police men and women were awarded Appreciation Certificates for the role they play in fighting crime and seeking justice in their respective communities.

Officers from Estcourt, Wembezi, Ntabamhlophe and Amangwe received the certificates from UThukela Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Z O Kunene during her visit to the Estcourt police station on April 15.

Each station commander was also present to acknowledge the efforts of the officers. Brigadier Kunene, during her address, cautioned police officers to stay away from corruption.

“As a police official, you are out there to protect and serve the community. You are not going out to use state resources to commit crimes. You are equipped with all those state resources to be used when you protect communities who are victimised by criminals,” she said.

The ceremony ended on a high note when Estcourt station commander Colonel Radebe and his team performed the ‘Jerusalema’ dance.
