VRYHEID KZN: Local bikers ride for blankets

Non-bikers are also welcome to participate and the entrance fee is either a new blanket or a R100 donation

Cruisers MCC is a local motorcycle club that is known to host several charity events when they donate to the less fortunate. This year, they have identified Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch as a distributor for a specific charitable cause. This organisation distributes food, clothing and blankets to 55 families in Vryheid town. The Cruisers will have a ‘Blanket Run’ on April 17 and have challenged local businesses to donate. Businesses can drop off donations on the day of the ‘Blanket Run’, which will take place at The Rustic Hut Restaurant (Vryheid Country Club). And of course, true to bikers’ nature, there has to be an event for them as well. Hence, there will also be a ‘Ride The Clock’ competition. This competition entails a route which has been identified and has a specific duration (time) to complete. The bikers have to follow the route and the one who rides closest to the time will win a prize. The day promises good music, delectable food and a well-priced cash bar. Non-bikers are also welcome to participate and the entrance fee is either a new blanket or a R100 donation. For more information, contact Carel on 071-687-5533 or Buks on 072-576-8121.
